Overall, I felt like our flights plans went pretty well. Our first flight was slightly delayed, the second delayed only by an hour or so, and BA was a very nice carrier. We had a decent layover in London at Heathrow, where most of us took much needed naps. I am the one sleeping under the fun striped blanket. :) After a pleasantly horizonal snooze in the airport, Hamille joined me as I had some spaghetti for the meal after dinner on Thursday and before dinner on Friday...whatever that was! ;) My last Italian meal for a while, I suspect. It was great, and I didn't even get parmesean on it! Also at Heathrow, Brooks found that he was quite drenched from our warm and toasty flight over, so he purchased a nice London t-shirt. We met a very nice gentleman and two sons on the bus (from the terminal to the plane) whose family is from a Muslim country, but came to the states as a boy to escape the revolution, and is now a strong Christian. He is not allowed in his former country because of his conversion, so he is meeting his parents in this Christian country to visit. Brooks and I had some extra room on this flight...the two of us and three seats. Guess who laid across two seats to snooze some more? ;) I even got to watch most of "Meet the Robinsons", a very cute movie!
Ok, so we arrived at about 1 am local time. All four of our suitcases made it! Praise the Lord! However, my dear sister in Christ, still has not received her suitcase with all of her things. We are helping her out and she has been so peaceful about it, and not fretting! What an example!!!
We hope that it will turn up in the next day or two. We were warmly greeted by Asatur, who has been our main contact here.
Our first drive was fine, as there was no traffic at 2 am outside of Yerevan. When we arrived at the seminary, Asatur was not aware that 6 out of 8 of us were married couples, so our rooms were not prepared as such, but I had a fun time with Hamille, playing roommates. Tonight will be different. Well, we must leave to meet. More at another available time! (It is 9:15 PM local time now on Saturday.) Welcom to Ashtarak!
