Saturday in Yerevan
After some much needed rest, the team headed into downtown Yerevan on Saturday afternoon. First we were able to exchange some money. Then we headed to the open-air market. The market had a little bit of everything, including books, rugs, embroidery, jewelry and wood carvings. Afterwards we visited the Armenian genocide museum and memorial. It commemorates the approximately 1.5 million Armenians killed by the Turks in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Finally, we visited a park on a hilltop overlooking the city.
